Thunder in Manhattan

It is very eeiry here right now. I am at the W checking my e-mails and it is thundering. It sounds like an out of control airplane...NOT a subject that I would bring up in conversation over here with the locals...Not trying to be unapt either...It was the first thought that came to mind.
