President Obama's speech to Congress
I watched President Obama's speech today to Congress. I felt it was effective and impressive. Gov Jindals response was ok, but could have been better.
Obama is a hard act to follow. I've seen Jindal interviewed and he has a lot more ability than what we saw last night. Unfortunately, he had nothing new to offer.
He sounded like a right-wing ideologue when he criticized government intervention. His ideology needs to catch up with the times. All across the board people agree that intervention is necessary, even Lindsey Graham and Alan Greenspan!
I feel that America is moving to the left with Obama's intention to nationalize healthcare etc. Those stuck in the past, like Jindal, need to adapt and accept that America is getting a social conscience and beginning to look out for its struggling populace.
The cost of healthcare is choking individuals and businesses - why anyone would object to the long-needed reform in favour of some failed individualistic ideal is beyond me. It makes no sense financially or socially.
